Hello! My name is Natalie Louise Gauger and I live in Charleston, South Carolina. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a B.S. in Biology with a specialization in Molecular, Cell and Genetics in 2017. A few years after I graduated from Coastal, I discovered my passion for Functional Medicine while working for a nutrigenomics laboratory. I followed this passion and went back to school at Sonoran University of Health Sciences and graduated with honors with a M.S. in Clinical Nutrition in 2022. After completing my Master's, I pursued the Certified Nutrition Specialist  credential and finished all requirements in 2024. I am now practicing as a Certified Nutrition Specialist , credentialed by the American Nutrition Association  through its Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists™. I am more excited than I've ever been to open this practice and work with clients to reach their goals!

The Certified Nutrition Specialists credential is the most advanced certification available for nutrition practitioners. To begin working towards the CNS credential, you must first hold a M.S. or doctorate degree in Nutrition and/or be in another clinical healthcare field such as an M.D., P.A., and others. The CNS Candidate must complete 1,000 supervised hours under a current CNS and pass the BCNS board exam to seek approval for the CNS credential. Many CNS practitioners work in numerous specialties that include disease care to optimizing overall health. Certified Nutrition Specialists  utilize evidenced-based, personalized dietary, supplement and/or lifestyle recommendations or Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to support the client goals.

I wanted to share why I included my middle name, Louise, in the name of the practice instead of my last name. Louise was my Grandma's name and I was named after her. She lived to be 97 years old and was the strongest woman I've ever met. She spent the summers with my family until she passed away in 2022. She was incredibly healthy up until the very end, and I like to contribute this to the fact that she loved her food and if she didn't have it, you would hear about it. She loved hot tea, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, miso soup, yogurt, chocolate, nuts, bingo, shuffleboard and jeopardy.
